BIC Update 8820 (Wed. 15 Jan, 2020 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

The 2019-2020 Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP) course presents information regarding:

(1) The Competence of Licensees and the broker's duty to provide clients with skill, care, and diligence;
(2) Material Facts: the categories of material facts, how to determine if a material fact exists, and the duties of both the listing and buyer's agents;
(3) Property Inspections:  what they are and the broker's responsibilities related to inspections;
(4) Wire Fraud:  common fraudulent activity in the real estate industry, and best practices for brokers to help protect themselves and their clients from fraudulent activities;
(5) Law and Rule Updates:  descriptions of updates to Commission rules that became effective July 1, 2019 and that will become effective July 1, 2020;
(6) Licensing and Education:  review of various license categories and statuses, and how to attain and maintain them.
(7) BIC's Duty of Supervision as it relates to the WWREA brochure; and
(8) Record Retention:  the responsibilities of brokers and the BIC related to record retention including the types of documents to be kepts and the length of time records must be retained.

Rape Aggression Defense Class taught by New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department, hosted by Your Professional Network.

Prospect or Predator? As part of NAR’s ongoing effort to keep our members safe, YPN presents to Cape Fear REALTORS® the R.A.D. system.
The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.

This class is for women only. The course is 4 weeks long, meeting each Tuesday in January from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.  All classes will be held at the Terraces on Sir Tyler, 1826 Sir Tyler Drive 

Space is limited to ensure all participants receive a quality education.

Class Schedule:

  • January 7 –   Classroom lecture, presentation, discussion
  • January 14 – Introduction to physical defense
  • January 21 – Physical defense
  • January 28 – Physical Defense simulation
