Operation Home Sweet Home
The Partners for Affordable Homeownership (PAH) committee has developed and executed Operation Home Sweet Home, an educational seminar designed to help the public and the workforce understand the homeownership process. This seminar educates the participants on their options for purchasing a home. Representatives of PAH go through a brief presentation bringing along with them credit counselors and lenders who answer questions and give advice. The first summit was held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s office in order to provide resources for local law enforcement. More summits are planned for 2008 and will be geared toward various occupations.
To further enhance REALTORS® knowledge on affordable housing, the committee created and updated the REALTOR® Resource Affordable Homeownership Guide. Now more than ever potential homebuyers need to know about affordable housing options. This guide educates new and existing members on affordable housing loan options and provides contact information for local organizations.
