Habitat For Humanity
Wilmington Regional Association of REALTORS® (WRAR), the Partners for Affordable Homeownership committee along with Habitat for Humanity, Wells Fargo, Alpha Mortgage and Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty, celebrated the dedication of two Habitat for Humanity houses; 3809 Prices Lane and 3800 Prices Lane on Saturday, February 3rd, 2008. After much anticipation, and many months of hard work and sweat, the Monroe family and the Humphrey family’s dreams were finally realized as they were able to move into their new homes. Nearly 50 people attended; a mixture of REALTORS®, sponsors, friends and family, along with Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, who also attended the ground-breaking back in February 2007.
2008 WRAR President, Susan Lacy gave words of encouragement and gratitude for the opportunity for the REALTOR® family to participate in such a wonderful event. The homes were blessed and guests were invited to walk through and tour the homes. "It really was a beautiful day, a moving ceremony, and a testament to the hard work and energy that all involved have given over the course of the past year," stated WRAR President Susan Lacy. "I was proud to know that we have such special people in our community and REALTOR® family who are willing to volunteer their time for others."
The Wilmington Regional Association of REALTORS® and Wells Fargo began the build of 3809 Prices Lane on February 24th of 2007. Many people volunteered to work on Saturdays for several months until the house was completed in June of 2007. After waiting on permits and other hold ups, the Habitat build came full circle nearly a year later.
