MAIN ISSUES and REASONS TO ATTEND:

• Voice your support to the federal candidates for the continued renewing and development of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). NAR has been great on this, but we must support their efforts.
• Ask federal candidates to support leaving the Mortgage Interest Deduction alone! Recent proposals have suggested getting rid of this or reducing it. It has a huge impact for housing since this is the largest deduction for U.S. homeowners.
• Communicate to your State candidates the importance of fairness in the property insurance rate making process. We’ve made progress and now have more of a voice with Bill 836, but there’s still a no LONG way to go!
• Let your local candidates know how you feel about issues like annexation, the baseball stadium, property taxes and much more! There many issues in Wilmington that REALTORS® need to stay up on and let these candidates know how it will effect housing, the economy and your business.
