There has been much discussion about applying the ocean set back rules in Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach now that they have been granted “Static Vegetation Line Exception Status.” However, the SVL Exception Status covers only a small number of properties along the coast. How do the new set back rules affect the much larger number of properties that are not located in SVL Exception Status communities and how does one determine ocean front setbacks in those areas?
