Thank you for taking the time to read my profile today as you make your decision to elect your next WRAR Vice President.
My husband and I moved from Upstate New York near the Adirondack Mountains to Wilmington in 1997. My work experience before becoming a REALTOR® in NC includes human resources, supervision, budgetary responsibilities on a County level, and policy and procedure development in the area of Health and Safety. During my working career in health care I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Human Development which has definitely served me well as a REALTOR®. I also started working on a Master Degree in Public Administration, but as luck would have it we decided to move South. We just decided to pick up one day, sell the house and move to Wilmington where we had vacationed for many years. I had a license to sell Real Estate in New York and helped out Dick (my hubby of 41 years now) with open houses and other tasks. While looking for a job one day in Wilmington, I decided to go into the business full time with Dick. After almost picking him up off the floor with that announcement, I began my full time career as a REALTOR®.
Today, I am asking for your support as I step up to a leadership role in WRAR. I believe some of my traits of being open minded and being a good listener, along with my experience, are assets I can share. I am now in the second year on the board of directors. My position on the board of directors has allowed me to grow as a person and a REALTOR®. It has helped me to better understand the important role of our Board in representing the members of our Association. To that endeavor, I BELIEVE in our industry and want to make sure to protect, enhance and help our REALTORS® in Wilmington stay on top of current issues and trends which affect us. Our profession faces many challenges. First and foremost are the challenges we face about data protection and the retention of our value as REALTORS®. We need to embrace our new millennium agents and work together to share our knowledge and experience. Real Estate is changing and I promise to continue to keep our members on top of issues and trends and represent you at the local, State and National levels to the best of my ability to make you proud.
In closing, I again look for your support and thank you for your time and consideration.
