What is WRAR?

The Wilmington Regional Association of REALTORS^® (WRAR) is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(6) corporation.  The corporation owns the Multiple Listing Service(MLS) of the Wilmington Regional Association of REALTORS^®. The organization came into existence on June 2, 1924 and has grown tremendously in the past 80+ years. Presently WRAR serves more than 1850 REALTORS^® in and around the Wilmington area.

We strive to be the premier, innovative resource for technology, services and information for real estate professionals in the Southeast region of North Carolina so that they may better serve the public. The public interests are best advanced by our-

• Promoting private property rights.

• Monitoring and proposing regulation and legislation to ensure the availability and affordability of insurance for both residential and commercial property owners

• Work with the National Association of REALTORS^®, the North Carolina Association of REALTORS^® and the NC Real Estate Commission to promote ethically and legally sound representation for the consumer.

Our diverse membership is comprised of REALTORS^® with the professional expertise to meet your real estate needs, whether it's your first home, a residential or commercial rental, or a commercial property for sale. Our REALTOR^® Members adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, which maintains that a high standard of conduct will be met in all activities.

Perhaps the best-known feature is the operation of our Multiple Listing Service. Our Association works to provide its members with contracts and forms to ease the real estate transaction, ensuring that the rights of all parties are addressed. Should a dispute arise between our members and you, the Association has established procedures to conduct professional standards, arbitration and mediation hearings if the situation warrants.

Our membership stays abreast of the latest industry advances by completing advance education courses on a host of topics – from technology to standard contract writing.
